Heck, Rick, instead of diving into so much detail on what NOT to do,
you could change gears and deal with this in one or two lines, and
save us all a lot of grief, by saying:
"I've sent Lisa an invite to the officer's list. DONE!"
YES - It could/would have been that simple, and it STILL CAN BE - but
only if you stop nit-picking when people are somewhat imprecise with
you in their requests. Yes, it's a delicate balance, but when there's
a clear right way to do things (such as using mailman's invite
capability)... why not just do THAT, rather than doing the
semi-OK-but-not-so-good thing of subscribing her sans "verification
loop"?
It seems to me it might be more important for you to be able to show
the world how well you know your stuff, than to make people's lives
easier within SVLUG. That's gotten out of hand, and it's one of my
bigger reasons for giving up on even trying to straighen this mess out
myself.

I'll note that I responded politely to an affront on the office of the
president that had ALSO been posted to the announce list; you're
mistaken in your belief that my message was simply personal
commentary; I felt it to be necessary for the
better good of SVLUG.
Please undo that change immediately, unless you've received
authorization to make it from SVLUG's current President or VP.
That's appropriate specifically because, AFAIK, I'm still SVLUG's
Installfest Coordinator, and I'll still quite a part of things here;
I'm simply not acting in the role of President anymore, since that
role severely limits my effectiveness within the organization.
If you recognize Ed as President, and he wants me off of the announce
list, by all means let it stand.
Else, undo. Now, please, so I can continue to act in my volunteer
roles within SVLUG.

Please undo that as well, at your leisure. The President of SVLUG
definitely deserves to be able to post to the officers list, and any
other SVLUG lists, using that email address; including the address as
a subscribed list member
makes that straightforward for them to do. The negatives don't
outweigh the positives here.
