Paul has earned my further ire by sending me a supposedly confidential
but definitely scurrilous e-mail without asking my permission first. A
heavily redacted version of part of it follows. I replied,

"Don't you ever send me or anybody something supposedly confidential
without permission. Trying to create such a moral bind is completely
unethical. I have signed no NDA with you, and will not respect your
wishes."

I know that some people consider it unacceptable to publish any
private e-mail. I have told some of them that I disagree in some
circumstances. This is one of them. For my own part, I treat any
e-mail I write as part of the public Internet, since I have no control
over what happens to it after I send it.
