Just as clarification, Aniruddha (speaker coordinator) said:

   Yesterday, Dan Kegel (project: Zumastor also search for C10K problem)
   got back to me saying that he won't be able to present at the Feb 2008
   meeting.

So, Darlene wasn't cancelling Dan's talk.  Dan simply says he can't make
it.

Speaking of pieces, I notice that three entire Web subtrees had been
deleted from our site:

editorials/
tech-notes/
vote/

I have restored from backup.

This deletion was either inept or uncool.  If someone was (very) inept, 
my condolences.  Either way, this sort of thing needs to not recur.
