Alvin, you may not state requirements.  It's that simple.  You're not
the officer.

Unless you can cite - produce an SVLUG policy or procedure that states
that its officers and volunteers _MUST_ use only public, archived
lists for communication, I'll ask you to refrain going forward from
making this misstatement of requirements.

It's simply not how I work, and not how I intend to work.  'nuff said, I hope.

I absolutely REFUSE to not email people privately when I feel it's the
right thing to do.  And I'll thank you to refrain from trying to
"educate" me about when it's right or wrong.  You've no clue yourself.

I highly recommend you turn off the "spam block" you've placed on
incoming email from my addresses; otherwise, you might miss important
emails from me.  Besides, it's irritating to get bounce messages.
