Hello, all!
This notice was included among the ads with my Merc this morning. It's
about as complete as anything I've seen lately about getting our
notices in the paper:
-------------------------------------------------
EVENT LISTINGS
Submit event listings directly at
http://mercurynews.zvents.com/events/new. It's easy, efficient and
free. Just follow the instructions on the online submission form.
Listings appear promptly in MercuryNews.com's online Events Calendar.
(We accept events occurring in the Greater Bay Area; we reserve the
right to refuse publication if the event does not meet Mercury News
standards.) All items submitted in the online Events Calendar are
automatically considered for Thursday's eye section and other in-paper
listings.
NOTE: You must submit the item at least three weeks before the actual
event date. Also, limited space prevents us from printing every
submission we receive, but we do our best to include a broad selection
for our readers.
------------------------------------------------
It's been my experience lately that *only* posted items with a special
event or speaker have gotten into the printed Merc. This is where the
three-week deadline is important, and I suspect we'd find ourselves in
print if we could meet it.
Thanks -
Margaret
