Although catdoc is good, in my experience the wvWare suite (e.g.,
wvText), what used to be called the WordView utilities but _may_ have
been renamed in response to trademark sabre-rattling (or not), is a good
bit more advanced.
Either toolkit is useful for mail in a _general_ context, but a bit too
cumbersome for the Mailman admin scenario -- given the additional need to
copy and paste a BASE64 stream from a Web browser window to file, run
that through uudeview, and only _then_ use catdoc/wvWare to see, as Lisa
says, the original five lines of ASCII.
