Hello, everyone!
Christian and I spoke briefly at the installfest - I think it'd be
awesome for him to present at SVLUG. Maybe 15 min. or 1/2 hour,
describing the "distributed video editing" effort he's come up with as
a solution for coping with the quantity of video he's got.
There are a number of other synergies here - I'll let his message
speak for itself.
Ani- please coordinate an initial date/time for him to address SVLUG.
This may well become a multi-month, ongoing thing.
Thanks all!

Subject: DTP preso for SVLUG?
To: Paul Reiber <reiber at gmail.com>
hi,
Thanks tons for the suggestion about coming over to an SVLUG meeting
to give a preso on the DTP. What would the next steps be?
BTW, here is my standard intro cut-and-paste describing the DTP project:
Our film now has 497 modular film segments of about 4.5 minutes each
comprising about 37 hours of fully forkable footage with FOSS
leaders. Our video is located here:
http://www.archive.org/details.php?identifier=digitaltippingpoint
Our keyword search index page is located below. It is the place to go
to find specific persons or themes for our footage:
http:// tinyurl .com/yluwoc
We are also putting a complete library of the transcripts of the
interview on-line, so that if we do a lousy job, someone could fork
our project and do a better job!! Our transcriptions library lives
here on this wiki:

Paul, thanks again for your suggestions. I am really excited about
giving back to the FOSS community with this film, because the
community has been so good to me, but I can't code, so this is all
I've got! Heh.
BTW, we are also always looking for sponsors. For example, it would
be possible for a sponsor to sponsor discreet segments of footage for
$40.00 per segment. We are looking to get large blocks of
sponsorships for at least 100 segments per block.
We would also LOVE to get functioning old servers for the purpose of
rendering the footage.
We are also looking for volunteers to transcribe footage; do rough
edits (of course you know that); provide animation and graphics; and
musicians to donate music.
I would also like to film an SVLUG meeting and an installfest. I'm
not sure if either of those are possible, since companies are touchy
about filming on their premises. But it is worth a shot.
It was great to meet you !
