[volunteers] My notes from tonight's meeting

Here's the last-minute addenda that I had handed to Lisa at our dinner,
last night:

o  Sysadmins should be aware of (and use) /CHANGELOG (checked into RCS)
   on svlug.svlug.org (legacy host), a dated, initialed log of all significant 
   system changes.

o  W3C validation:  Aim for HTML 4.01 Transitional.  Nice if we can use CSS
   in lieu of tables.  (Moin migration accomplishes this.)

o  Make sure we consistently ALT-tag images, and are otherwise friendly to
   the vision-impaired.

o  We need to either lose the MBone page entirely, or (perhaps better) 
   properly mark it as historical-only.  Two posts from Chris Verges, 
   the substance of which should probably be put into the page:

   Dana Street Roasting Company, Dana St. off Castro, closes 10pm, 11pm Fridays.

I'm well aware that not enough of us yet have accounts on gruyere
(Linode) or brie:  We'll fix that, soonish.  Also, we'll have to make
sure everyone needing root (or sudo) on our various hosts has it.

New members of the Web Team, welcome indeed!  Please at your conveniece

much the only Web Team briefing *I* ever had, so I'm guessing it's
reasonably useful.)

Not a complaint, but over the long term this sort of discussion is best
suited for web-team at lists.svlug.org (which for now must be reached by
writing to webmaster at svlug.org, because of an /etc/mail/aliases / MTA 
glitch).
