My thoughts:
- First, I'm glad you wrote this - it needed to be said.
- I know everyone involved well enough to know we've all got good
hearts and good intentions. We do tend to disagree on the
implementation details, though.
- it's good to know linuxpicnic.org is getting content pulled forward
from whatever other sources. There was a LOT of good content out
there regarding the picnic, so I hope most of it makes it there.

- I think ALL of this needs to move to a picnic mailinglist - hosted
wherever it may be - ASAP. Regarding my own personal enrollment on
that list - that's great, sign me up - paul at reiber.org - ...but what
about the dozens of others who've been dropped over the years? Can we
ressurect the mailinglists from linux10 as well?
- I think it would sooth more than just a few ruffled feathers if some
LUG somewhere was designated as NEXT summer's linux picnic
coordinator. (after agreeing to it, of course)
- I agree that isolationism is part of the problem. Once there's a
new mailinglist it'd be great to see announcement messages hitting the
various LUGS.
- So long as the picnic proceeds much as it has in past years, (or
more smoothly, even) I can assure you you'll have SVLUG's support.
- I agree that we should all be treating each other with grace, and
that we should remain optimistic about all of this.
- I'm honored to be surrounded by such fine company, both at the
picnic and at SVLUG events... and I'm honored to have you as a friend.
Let's make sure that nothing changes that.
Best regards,
-Paul
