Quoting Heather Stern (star at starshine.org):

> Rick, it's a shame you're raising a stink where none had to exist.

It is, of course, _not_ of my creation. You knew that, but you want to
start out by attacking the critic.

This is of course rather amazing revisionism, since you were right there
when I attempted to discuss this very matter with you, John, and Ian --
and you guys just attempted to stonewall the matter.

> ...showed a control-freak attitude....

Posting criticism of an organisational change imposed on us as a fait
accompli is being a "control freak"? In what universe, ma'am? Project much?

> Duncan's in charge of the picnic bloody well means that Duncan's in charge

Sbay's own statements proclaim him to have been _chosen_ by Sbay -- and
not collectively by the Bay Area's Linux groups -- and to be in that
position at Sbay's sole pleasure. Sbay now solely controls the picnic
site, the mailing list, the domain, the Web site, and who is the annual
coordinator.

Well done, Heather: You've neatly removed the Bay Area's Linux
community from the running of what used to be its picnic.

But that's OK. Although this constitutes an abuse of Brew Bertola's
trust regarding the domain, there are plenty of others. If and when the
Linux community gets around to it, we'll reconstitute our picnic
elsewhere.

And sure, I do appreciate Sbay throwing a picnic to benefit the Linux
community, and I'm sure the hamburgers will be just fine. I meant that
when I said it before, and I mean it now.
