Of course. Glad to help, Bill. No hurry; it's not an emergency, just
something that ought to get fixed.
Since I wrote that post, someone has edited the domain record -- which
is sort of good. Unfortunately, the change didn't really help:
That is, someone deleted the "cumulus" NS record at the parent .ORG
zone (i.e., at svlug.org's registrar). But in a way, that's worse,
because it's still listed in SVLUG's own zonefile, which makes it a
"stealth" nameserver: It'll either get used or not depending on where
the NS records get queried.
There are still wrong IP addresses at .ORG for "ns2.merlins.org" and in
"cumulus's" own local zonefile (within its own domain). There's still
missing glue for "nimbus" (and now _nothing_ at the parent zone for
"cumulus"). And the reverse DNS for svlug.org's IP is still slightly
off.
That last item probably needs to be tweaked by whoever owns our IP
(Hurricane Electric? Marc?). The rest is a ten-minute fix, given edit
access to svlug.org's domain records and master zonefile.
I'd do exactly that, if I could. Failing that, all I can think of is to
describe the problems and how to fix them.
