[svlug] VPS recommendations?

I have a VPS hosted by https://interserver.net. Minimial slice: 2GB
RAM, 30Gb SSD. AlmaLinux 8 (other options available), shell access,
email support (I use POP3), DirectAdmin with Softaculous. Cheap $6/mo.

I've had this service for a couple years with no problems. One of the
reasons I can recommend them is that when I have had problems, they have
been very responsive to trouble tickets asking how I should do something
or other.

They took shell access away earlier this year (2024), and their help desk tells me they no longer offer a secure way for domain holders to copy files up to them, only insecure FTP. Ridiculous and disappointing.
