I've found a _mention_ of the event by Doc Searles in an interview he
did with Marc a few months after the meeting. Doc was, like you and me,
at the meeting at Netscape, and so he described Marc's bullet points.

SFGate mentioned the meeting and subsequent "mozilla dot party" at Jamie
Zawinski's DNA Lounge club (and, IIRC, Sound Factory) in San Francisco:

Here's what you probably want most, a preserved copy of the "mozilla dot
party" Web site Jamie created:
https://www-archive.mozilla.org/party/1998/ It includes photo albums --
and links to more coverage.

There was also coverage a few months later by some of the principals in
the volume "Open Sources: Voices from the Open Source Revolution":

Since, at the time, I was living in SOMA a few blocks away from the
parties (and living directly above SF's first Linux-based Internet cafe,
at that), I got to just walk to the parties, after driving home from the
SVLUG meeting.

I found that the release-day code, not surprisingly, was a little shaky,
albeit less so once I stopped trying to compile it with Lesstif and fell
back onto proprietary Motif 1.2 libs. Then it at least ran and was
pretty decent -- but only became outstanding quite a while later with
the version 0.96 codebase and later.
