almost any distro can be changed to any other booting preferences ( rc.d,
systemctl, dracut, custom, lilo/grub/loadlin/xyz, etc )

any package manager can be used on other distro, but is not necessarily
trivial and more importantly, why do it the hard way other than for whacky
techie challenges for fun

if they have the budget for it ... "i'll do it" after they understand why
they want it done the harder n crazy way
