I've been reading about horse power required to move around 1Gbps 
without hardware acceleration, mostly pfsense mailing list... and 
consensus seems to be at least a 2GHz quad core, not including things 
like bind/unbound, file sharing etc...

I'm not that surprised.

Of course most people were talking about professional application and 
not a home router in front of a 1Gbps internet connection.

So that box may be adequate, but I'd really appreciate if you could tell 
us more once you get your toy.
