Greetings, fellow Linux users and developers. On Thursday night,
Silicon Valley Automotive Open Source Group will host a presentation:

http://www.meetup.com/Silicon-Valley-Automotive-Open-Source/events/230792659/
What: "Addressing Automotive Networking Challenges with AUTOSAR and
Linux"
Where: Mentor Graphics, near Warren and 880 in Fremont
When: June 2 at 7 pm (lecture), doors and buffer after 6 PM
Cost: $2 including buffet
Abstract: AUTOSAR is a set of communications and operating systems
standards for automotive ECUs that has been developed by an industry
consortium with the goal of fostering code reuse through greater
interoperability. The AUTOSAR consortium was founded in 2003, and now
supports all the major automotive buses (CAN, LIN, FlexRay and
Ethernet).

A brief overview will be provided about AUTOSAR, which has a growing
footprint at OEMs worldwide. The AUTOSAR specification describes the
platform behavior from HW interface to application interface to vehicle
system signals and ECU resources. Mathias will talk about the new
development of Adaptive AUTOSAR, which is based on a subset of POSIX.
As a pioneer in this area, Mentor has developed the ability to run
AUTOSAR on an embedded Linux system and will be highlighting the
benefits this offers car makers.

During refreshments a demo showing AUTOSAR on Linux will be available.

Speaker: Mathias Fritzson is the product manager for VSTAR, Mentor's
AUTOSAR implementation. Mathias formerly worked in the Delphi subsidiary
Mecel where he was the product line manager for AUTOSAR products. He has
held several different positions developing embedded software, and has
participated in standardization and research projects for the automotive
industry. Mathias holds a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Chalmers
University.

I'll be driving to the event from Mountain View, so ping me if you want
to carpool.

Best wishes,
Alison
