January 19, 2015
7:00pm - 9:00pm
Purely Functional Package Management with Nix
presented by Eric Rasmussen
This presentation will introduce the Nix package manager, demonstrating
how to get started quickly with declarative packages on your favorite
Linux distro or even Mac OS X. We'll also cover the NixOS Linux distro
built on top of Nix, including declarative configuration management,
reproducible builds, and tools for simplifying deployments. Come learn
about an emerging community working to take the pain out of package
management for everyone on Linux.
