There are three items in this announcement:

1) We are meeting at DataStax (a DIFFERENT VENUE) this month. DataStax may provide food as well but I have not heard the confirmation yet. (My usual announcement is later below.)

2) This month's host DataStax has a message that involves a $100 gift card and more:

'We at DataStax are trying to test our 'getting started with Apache Cassandra and C++' process. We are looking for ~10 hardy souls to come in to our offices in Santa Clara and do a self-directed learning (not training or instructor-led) about Cassandra (1-5pm on 11/13). We want people who are completely new to Cassandra (the whole point is we want to see how someone would learn about Cassandra if we aren't directing them). We will record their screen so we can review where they had issues and make the process easier. In response for them helping us out, we will give them a $100 gift card, a Cassandra t-shirt, and a free lunch (come at 12:30pm for the free foodage).

If you are interested, please send an email to Scott Hirleman at scott at datastax.com with your name and company. If you have any questions / comments / concerns, Scott is your point of contact. If you can't make it but want to be considered for future tests, please let Scott know.
