I feel your pain. I'm married with triplets, ten years ago those
triplets were 11 years old, and I had very little time back in those
days. When you're working your butt off, being a husband and father,
time is precious indeed.
Which is why you just might want to build your own, in order to save
time. If you have an old computer laying around, and can throw two NICs
in it, it takes maybe an hour to turn it into a pfSense firewall/router,
and the latest pfSense has been Heartbleed-corrected. If you compare
the time to build a pfSense with the time to decide whether to repair
or replace your existing router, and then if replace decide which, etc,
etc, the pfSense starts sounding like the quick solution.
The pfSense guys have an IRC channel too.
