[svlug] Maintaining a backup in the cloud using rsync

I've been using dejadup/duplicity for a while now, with no problems. (I don't use the encryption feature, though I tried it. I back up to a true-crypted partition instead.) It is quite different from syncing, since it maintains versions, which is important to me. I only use local storage, but I believe it supports Amazon S3, maybe others, but not Google drive. I've done some practice file retrieval, which worked well.

For syncing remote storage I've used Google drive. But I didn't use rsync, I used grive, a Linux app that seems to do the same thing. (Maybe it has rsync inside.)
