They are used as the system disk, and I run 'make' enough that you can
consider me a developer. Of course, since our search engine is mostly
written in perl, the size of our "compiled" code is relatively small.

Also keep in mind that these drives, while old-ish, are Intel X-25M's,
which were the first drive to not have the get-slow-after-a-while-
because-of-garbage-collection problem. Now all the drives with
reasonable perf have that feature.
