Just a really brief plug for the other alternative:  Drop a couple of
simoleons on a static IP address, at which point all the stuff you need
to do elaborate Dynamic DNS stuff to maybe, possibly, on a good day make
reliable will Just Work, without effort.  Old school.

You doubtless knew that and wanted to do DynDNS anyway -- and more power
to you and to others who enter that game with their eyes open --  but
some readers might not.

I'm in no way criticising people willing to do a lot of work and suffer
additional complexity to save a few buck on static IPs.  It's a choice
many find worthwhile.

(Being the expert troubleshooter you are, I'm sure you know that it's
vital to ensure that you're solving the right problem.)
