I adore my (rooted, courtesy of http://nookdevs.com/) Nook. 
Which _is_ an Android device.  And I also love Calibre.  

I got my Nook via a trade, but, last I heard, black-n-white Nooks were
$150 SRP for the WiFi model.  (The Colour Nook adds $100 to that.)
