I recently upgraded to ubuntu 10.04 on my Thinkpad t41to start developing droid applications.
Upgrading from 8.10 meant wiping out everything that was on my drive and installing 10.04.
The problem that I'm running into is that my machine won't mount USB drives, including the droid. That isn't quite true, because it seems that sometimes, after the droid has been connected via USB for a while, it will eventually start talking to the T41.
Mind you, with ubuntu 10.04 on my desktop machine, I don't seem to have any of these problems.
I've gone into System Settings->Advanced User Settings->Removable devices and unchecked the "Only automatically mount removable media that has been manually mounted before" setting.
When I do a dmesg I get
unable to enumerate USB device on port 3 (or port 4)
I've tried with both gnome and KDE desktops.
dmesg is also giving me "new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address xxx" message where xxx is an increasing number.
This happens with both SD cards and my droid.
Has anyone else had, and solved, a similar problem?
