Hi Mark,

There are a lot of version control systems, you will have a lot of reading to do in order to make an informed decision.

If you want to go with the current "cool" or "fashionable" vcs, git is the way to go. 
CVS is the "honda accord" of VCS, and SVN is upgraded model of CVS. Both are very popular and you will find it easy to get support on both.
People tend to get very religious about their choice of VCS and are often willing to start flame wars to support their preferred version.
If I had to pick one that is easy to use I would use SVN, if "coolness" was a factor in decision making then I would pick git.

Hi,

I've got a client for whom I am evaluating Source Control, and I'd like to get some feedback from this list. Anyone care to comment on their experiences with different systems, and what they might want for the ideal VCS? Cost or free is not a factor in this effort.
