Well, Peter, that was clearly a criticism, notwithstanding the disclaimer. And 
you went and used the ultimate epithet available to you.

Do you have anything constructive to help the OP with his problem? Sometimes 
it's best not to say anything, and avoid proving what we heretofore only 
suspected.

OK, I apologize. That was too harsh.

(Since you have very limited facts, you are criticizing from a position of 
ignorance -- very risky. Why would you consider it "drastic" or "expedient" 
to replace a beta version with the supported version, especially without 
knowing what the computer is used for? And although I'm not a Windows 
advocate, I've never reinstalled XP to solve a problem.)
