[svlug] suddenly low bandwidth on lan cable

Hi folks.

I don't know if anybody mentioned this yet, but different switches
have varying port drive power abilities.

For example, my Linksys RV082 dual-wan router has an 8-port switch bolted
on, but cables longer than 50' simply don't illuminate the link light
until the cable is shortened.

(The RV082 has awesome software, but comes on lousy hardware.)
