[svlug] Digikam and my new Olympus

Hey all,

I have a brand spanking new Olympus E-520 DSLR, but DigiKam
can't find it and does not list it in the list of cameras
under configure. It won't load it with any kind of generic
dealy either, and the auto find doesn't see the camera at all.

However, on the front page of digikam.org I read, "Today, i
have updated libkdcraw with last dcraw implementation from
Dave Cofin. New pro camera are now supported as Nikon D700,
Canon EOS 1000D, and Olympus E-520. So, digiKam is now able to
play with these cameras as well." And a bit further down "Code
is already in svn, into KDE3 branch (next digiKam 0.9.5)."

But I just installed Digikam and the E-520 is still not listed
even though the version of Digikam I have is 0.10.0.

Does this mean the Ubuntu repository is not yet updated with
the code to support my new camera? And if this is the case how
can I get the version that does?

Or... perhaps someone has something other than Digikam they'd
recommend for importing my pics? I don't use any real fancy
features at all, so any basic program will do.

Thanks gobs,
Skip
