[svlug] image de-noiser software

On Windows, there are several de-noiser apps that a photographer can use
with good results - Neat Image, Noise Ninja, Topaz DeNoise, etc.

Are there any comparable applications on Linux? Of course, this being
Linux, I would prefer a non-GUI application, in order to build a
processing pipe that sucks in the RAW image at one end, processes it,
and spits out the JPEG at the other end.
Processing may include such procedures as: luma denoise, chroma denoise,
luma and chroma denoise, sharpening, softening, etc.

But GUI is fine too, if it's not too obnoxious.

The typical usage scenario here is to smooth out small amounts of noise
in a RAW image while preserving detail as much as possible. E.g., in
this review look at the night shots comparison (scroll down about 2/3),
the way they process the ISO800 image to remove the noise:

Can something like that be accomplished on Linux?
