Hi list,
Recently, i came to check memory limit on one of the box.I did
`dmidecode -t memory` on the machine(IBM x3250 M2 4190 system) and it
showed that the "Maximum Memory Capacity" was 8GB, (shown below)
[root at node1 ~]# dmidecode -t memory | more
# dmidecode 2.7
SMBIOS 2.5 present.
Handle 0x0019, DMI type 16, 15 bytes.
Physical Memory Array
Location: System Board Or Motherboard
Use: System Memory
Error Correction Type: Multi-bit ECC
Maximum Capacity: 8 GB
Error Information Handle: Not Provided
Number Of Devices: 4
How accurate is the dmidecode output?
I am planning to upgrade to 16GB with 4x4G and run PAE kernel. Has
anyone experienced it, or will that be a problem?
Thanks,
raj
