It is a good start, but not honorable in itself.

There are a lot of companies that hire folks involved in open 
source, and their intentions are good but they struggle on 
execution. This is displayed at a lot of various levels with a 
lot of companies.

Intel gets my vote today. But it did take Intel some time on 
things like wifi drivers, and such, there were a good number of 
years that the drivers were hard to get on Linux.

I think it shows that they are learning how things work, how to 
participate, and provide help on their products in the cases 
where they can't take on the development, if there are any left.

Let's face it, there is always going to be new devices...getting 
the hardware vendors to help participate in open source is 
goodness in itself, if not for today, for tomorrow.
