I had the original EeePC briefly last fall...nice lil' lappy when you consider the price...
FWIW, I sold it after a few weeks, not because there was anything really wrong with it, although would have liked higher screen resolution, but wanted a convertible tabletPC style device.
Got the lil' Fujitsu U810 and very happy with it overall, very small and light....upgraded it from Vista to XPT and then installed Debian.... ;-)
Given the very slight increase in dimensions, yet larger display (higher resolution, too I think), I'd look seriously at the new 900 first....
Check out CentralComputer in Sunnyvale or Santa Clara, they have Eee's, since they carry ASUS line of computers...
