[svlug] Alternate spelling

   Some on-line phone books match names like Tony & Anthony, Tom &
Thomas, Cathy, Cathie & Kathy. Also, if you mis-spell a name (like Jhon
for John), it often suggests alternate spellings. Does anyone know how
that works? I have a MySQL database with lots of names that people
(including me) query with different spellings, and I'd like to be able
to match the appropriate name.
