I Got It!!!
Well, after just reading, reading, browsing, and
more reading, I started getting it to connect, but
always lost it on reboot, so I knew I had to make
the changes permanent, but wasn't sure how.
Also, I found a page that said to make sure
Roaming was enabled in Network Settings, and I
hadn't seen that before.
This last page had all the same steps for
installing ndiswrapper and utils, but also one I
hadn't seen before
depmod -a
which I learned was to "handle dependency
descriptions for loadable kernel modules."
Finally, putting ndiswrapper in /etc/modules got
it loading on startup.
I'm now at expert at getting wireless going on
Dell laptops for Ubuntu :)

PS. Stop rolling your eyes, Rick.
