Update, I discovered I had ndiswrapper-utils-1-8
so I apt-get remove(d) this and got
ndiswrapper-utils-1.9 (yes, the - and . are
actually in there with the version numbers).

Then I did

ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf
ndiswrapper -l
modprobe ndiswrapper

...according to the instructions I found to
install the driver and it worked. It is listed
when I do

ndiswrapper -l

But I still can't configure the wireless
connection under System -> Network. It is not
check-able and the it won't let me save anything
under Properties.

Any advice, again, greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Skip
