I replied to Jose on Conspire that I would be bringing some (ubuntu
alternate & desktop) cd's as I am experiencing very nice bandwidth at
the moment.

On the other hand, the download mirror I am currently using has no
derivative editions (kubuntu & xubuntu and so forth) listed, so I will
attempt to shop for another mirror. Mirrors that I was trying this
morning were abysmal compared to the mirror I am using now (University
of Sherbourne, in Quebec).

a bit later - went to the "ubuntu family" web page, went to Dowload
Now, and only saw ubunty variants, not edubuntu or kubuntu. I also
checked another mirror in Canada (University of Waterloo) and only saw
the ubuntu-{alternate,server,desktop} variants which are available at
Sherbourne. Maybe it takes more time for the variants to come out?
(Although it would seem they are available).
