[ I actually was
Thinking about video rights at the first meeting. And decided that "don't be evil" was enough for now. Yes, I totally expected this "sudden problem" as the GPL that largely defines Linux differs from the BSD style liscense by restricting the authors from subsequently restricting access to how the artifacts were made. Many liscensing issues exist and we should seriously consider asking for more than "don't be evil" now. I do remember someone making sure our cameramun wasn't a google employee during the last kernel session. Kilgore Starslayer Excelsior ( it means shredded newspaper ) ie Bruce ] .

it's only "20-20 hindsight" that's leading _some_ people to think we
"should" have done

The issue isn't about what the problem IS, but what the problem COULD
BE in the future. There have been many voices on this list opining on ...........
you never asked in the volunteers list ... just that it was "done"................
nor is it for you to dictate to svlug what is good for svlug when
you've so far ignored all input from just about everybody
alvin.........From: John Mark Walker <johnmark at johnmark.org>...........
I have nothing specific to say to any of your comments below, so instead
I'll pose general questions and comments.
Given that a large proportion of Linux and FLOSS users care very much
about information rights and such, shouldn't you have at least seen this
The fact that you don't see this as an issue and don't plan to take
action in response to the concerns expressed here puts you at odds with
a significant portion of the SVLUG community.........
