Sorry Larry, I gave up trying to make every distro share nicely over a year ago and just bought another big drive. Looks like the 15 partition limits back and will make your scheme more difficult as you expand.

My desktop box is nominally multiboot with fedora, doze, kubuntu etc.
It currently theoretically has kubuntu 6, but grub is fubar and it
won't boot into k6. I'd like to install 7.10, but when I've tried to
install kubuntu as a multiboot system, it'll play nice with windows,
but tries to wipe out fedora.
How do I go about installing kubuntu 7.10 on the system so that it
lets windows be on sda1, fedora root on sda7, it puts it's own root on
sda6. I think that I want all the linuxes to share /boot and
/boot/grub but that may take a bit of post installation editing.
FWIW, the drive layout under FC6 is:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda7 29G 4.9G 23G 18% /
/dev/sda10 327G 268G 43G 87% /bigpart
/dev/sda3 935M 79M 809M 9% /boot
tmpfs 1014M 0 1014M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda8 28G 7.6G 19G 30% /fc6_64
/dev/sda6 29G 2.7G 25G 10% /kubuntu6
/dev/sdb4 440G 275G 143G 66% /home
/dev/sda1 25G 5.5G 19G 23% /xp
/dev/sda9 19G 704K 19G 1% /xp2
/dev/sdc1 459G 346G 90G 80% /music...
