But the important point is that these are all nice GUI front ends
to the very same command-line program, so usually if k3b won't work,
neither will xcdroast.  Same with the CD burner utilities built into
the Gnome and KDE desktops.

There is too much tendency on this list, when someone says "I'm having
trouble making program X work", to say "X sucks, try program Y".  Or
worse, "try distro Y".  If we don't help people diagnose the underlying
problem, the alternative options we offer will probably fail as well.
