Yeah, that's what I meant -- as to _spam_.

We don't want to reject legitimate posts from non-subscribed addresses, 
especially since those would usually turn out (if you were to closely
examine the subscriber roster) to be from a subscriber who forgot to use
his/her subscribed sending address, and absent-mindedly switched to GMail,
etc.  So, I check a box to add that variant posting address to the "let
these through in the future" list.

Anyhow, listadmins/moderators get notices of all autodiscards, which
gives us the opportunity to fix any erroneous discards.  (Fortunately,
I've yet to see that arise.)

Yeah, but one problem is that _how_ to do that is largely experience and
a little hard to articulate -- not to mention laziness in the Larry Wall
"virtues of programmers" sense of the term.  ;->
