As you recall, we had previously agreed that I, acting as a director
of sbay.org, would take the lead on drafting a SIG charter for SVLUG.
As a result of this vote, this is therefore no longer my
responsibility. That said, I recently sent some thoughts about what
the charter should contain, and I would hope that SVLUG would use some
of those ideas in any future bylaws, charter, or other operating
document.
Now that everyone but Paul has been removed from power over SVLUG, I
feel that it is especially important to have a VP in place. We've
been saying that Paul was supposed to appoint a replacement, but I
recently learned that the last (and only) time that a VP of SVLUG
resigned before me, an immediate election was held for both offices.
I wish we had known about that precedent when I resigned. If Paul
does not appoint a new VP in the next few weeks, I would suggest that
a new election for both offices be held, and not wait for the
scheduled election this November.
I really wish I had announced my resignation in December, when I first
agreed to step down, instead of waiting two months for Paul to find
someone willing to work with him in that role. I announced it nearly
a month ago, but it is now almost 3 months that the VP role has been
vacant.

PS: In case anyone is wondering, I will not seek or accept any
nomination to any SVLUG office in the coming term.
