Hey all:
As announced, we held a vote this evening regarding SVLUG status a special
interest group (SIG) of SBAY.
Jim Dennis, representing the SBAY Board, gave a presentation first and then
I presented. We both took a couple of questions from the audience
afterward.
We held a hand vote, in the same style the original vote was held; Rick
Moen and Chris Verges helped me to certify the counts.
The final results were 55% in favor of not renewing SVLUG's SIG status with
SBAY.
As I said this evening, this vote isn't about "What does SVLUG do now?" in
terms of finding an organizational structure that works for us. But, we
are now presented with that question.
I've already had emails with suggestions and opinions of what members would
like to see, so it's a discussion that we'll undertake without delay.
I'd like to thank everyone who participated. While there was some
disagreement, I know that everyone has SVLUG's best interests at heart.
And that's what's important.
I'm looking forward to working with everyone to implement what's best for
SVLUG.
Later,
Paul
