As the LinuxWorld conference director, I would like to make a very
special request - would you be interested in hosting this event in the
Yerba Buena area outside of Moscone at the same time as LinuxWorld? I
think it would be a very nice event. IDG World Expo has already
indicated to me that they would wholeheartedly commit resources for
this. Let me know if you're interested. We were thinking of having our
own 15th anniversary event, and then I informed them of the annual
picnix stuff, and they were intrigued.
And as a general inquiry, I'd like to extend an invitation to work more
closely with SVLUG (and BALUG, PenLUG, and BayLISA) on LinuxWorld. Part
of my job is to do a better job of outreach with various communities,
including LUG's, developers, and sysadmins. I'd like to continue this
discussion in an open-ended way.
I'm currently in the Portland airport waiting for my plane to land so I
can board. By the way, the stuff going on in Oregon is freaking
incredible. Way more than I expected, even though I knew a fair bit of
what's happening. I'd love to share my Oregon enthusiasm with all of you
if I ever get a chance ;)
