Actually, it was sent by Paul. :-) As he mentioned in his original
e-mail, he had a few "core volunteers," as he called it, proof copies of
it. It was a few days after this that I signed up for the svlug@ list.
Before that, I was only on the volunteers@ list. The reason that I
didn't sign up for the svlug@ list earlier was that I don't like getting
all the e-mails that are sent across it -- most don't pertain to me, and
it is not a requirement for membership in SVLUG that I be signed up on
it. You can chat with him offline on the details of why he sent me a
copy, if you'd like.

>From my side, I can still be a friend of his without agreeing with his
position. I'm not entirely sure what your intentions are, but I do wish
that you would keep it objective rather than subjective. I have never
attacked Paul's character, only the issues at hand. I have never
deliberately attacked your character, Rick, either; I explained the
misunderstanding with the "complaint" comment, and I hope that you
accepted my public apology for the irregular usage of the word.

According to the SBAY by-laws, to which SVLUG agreed upon joining SBAY,
the SBAY president and/or board (depending on the circumstances) have
the ability to remove the SIG coordinator (i.e. SVLUG's elected
president) if they see fit. The SVLUG membership agreed that this would
be OK when they joined several years ago. The question is whether or
not the membership feels that this is still something that they wish to
agree to. Many arguments either way have already done across the list,
perhaps it is time to move on to other issues.

In an attempt to get this thread moving in a slightly more constructive
direction, are there any questions from members who we have not heard
from concerning the SBAY-SVLUG issue?

Thanks,
chris
