I have to recommend "Point & Click Linux" to any
newbie or sysadmin afflicted with them, w98 users
often mess up by doubleclicking on things when any
sane u.i. only wants 1. The instructional video merits
great praise but I'd want to use simply MEPIS 2004.06
instead of what shipped with the book despite the
difference in applications. The latest kaNOTix cd
works wonders and uses the archaic root account method
that seems easier on newbies also. Supplementing from
The Linux Documentation Project and possibly also the
linuxmafia.com pages should finish off most problems
except dodgy hardware. I reviewed that book for bay
LISA and am typing from simply MEPIS 3.3.1-1 now. [
most common distro problem for these cd's = uncomment
the last line of sources.list so marillat can give you
libdvdcss and you can realise your legal pre dmca
right to see you dvd's.
