[svlug] How to change file associations?

Thanks for the suggestions. Though haven't made much progress. 
1. .mailcap didn't have any pdf entry at all. 
2. Fedora 3 seems to omit gnome-file-types-properties 
(see also http://www.w00tlinux.com/bb/sutra266184.html)

While you can change the application a file is opened with via the 
properties tab 
(right click on the file), the real reason for my inquery is that Firefox 
knows that 
the "default" app for PDF is ggv. And this is not a firefox setting it looks 
like. 
It appears a system setting.
