I think you will find that nearly all modern printers have a built-in
power saving mode that is enabled by default (many also allow that
setting to be disabled of you need faster first page printing.) Just
make sure it's on a good surge supressor (laser printers and UPS's don't
mix.) I've never, ever had any issues leaving printers on 24/7 (both
business and home use) - they are designed for it.
