This month's Silicon Valley Electronics Flea Market will take place
tomorrow (Saturday) morning at Lockheed-Martin in Sunnyvale.

These are held every second Saturday of the month from March to October.

In general, the hours are from 7AM to noon. But die-hard bargain hunters
tend to arrive by 5AM with a flashlight. The best deals tend to disappear
early in the morning. As with any flea market, you never know what you'll
find there.

The flea market started as a Ham Radio swap meet decades ago. But as
many things in Silicon Valley do, eventually grew into a computers and
electronics event as well. There is still a radio theme to the event.
It's also sort of a social event since everyone who knows anyone in the
valley often runs into friends there.

This is the same flea market which used to be held at Foothill College
until last year. Each month a different organization involved with
volunteer emergency services in Silicon Valley takes its turn and runs
the flea market and the food concession stand as their annual fund-raiser.
This month's host is the Silicon Valley Emergency Communications System
(SVECS).
