I just posted this same question oddly enough, on another list. Here
were my answers back:

1. And on my Debian system, I've even got a Print To PDF printer defined by
default, which also works for those things that don't natively export to
pdf.

2. Another windows program is pdf995 from www.pdf995.com

3. No restrictions on use, works as printer driver, no ad added to the pdf
file. It does pop up an ad (stored locally) whenever you use it unless you
pay the $20 to register it.

4. The old standby is ps2pdf, a command line utility that converts
Postscript (which any pretty print linux application generates) to
PDFs. You could even set it up as a cups printer filter, check the
print to file button, and you're on your way. First make sure that
the export to PDF option isn't available.

5. there is another one from Dane Prarie software but I don't think
it runs on Lx, also it adds a 'for non commercial use only' line which
I would never use.

6. upgrade your Ooo, the export to pdf feature isn't there a version
or two back, that is what my problem was...
