Ja, people are forever being mislead by patch backports.  I'll see if
I can include that gotcha, somewhere -- concisely.  

The page is a bit long-winded, but some details were necessary to
counter several security writers who struck me as having (probably
willfully) distorted the topic.  (I won't name them here, but I do in
the essay.  ;->  )
